Introduction

If you are away for a long time then it will probably be necessary to get your post sent on to you from your home country. If you live in your vehicle then you may need a UK address for administrative purposes. Renting a mailbox is one way to fill these needs.

Motorhome Trails provides mailboxes for motorhomes, in partnership with an established mail handling company.

How It Works

When you set up the mailbox you are given an address. Post that is sent to your address is kept for you by the mail company until you request it to be forwarded. You can make this request whenever you like, by email, fax or phone. Your post can be forwarded anywhere, including to a poste restante address. It can be sent to a different address each time; you just have to supply the new address when you request the mail forwarding.

Staff Who Understand Motorhome User's Needs

Motorhome Mailbox staff have been trained to deal with motorhome user’s needs (like a frequently changing forwarding address).

Sign Up From Anywhere

The Motorhome Mailbox service has been set up to allow motor caravanners to sign up over the phone. That means you can easily set up a mailbox while you are overseas.

No Time Limit

Unlike some alternative postal solutions, there is no time limit on how long you can rent a Motorhome Mailbox for and no maintenance. This means you can set it up and travel indefinitely without ever having to physically visit your mailbox.

Free Email and Fax Service

You can even receive emails and faxes. They will be printed out and forwarded with your regular post, at no extra charge. The mail company normally charge of 50p per page for this but it is free to Motorhome Mailbox customers.

Receive Post for Two Names

Each mailbox can be used by two named recipients. More named recipients can be added for £2 per month, per name.

Costs

Although there are some surcharges for extraordinary services (like opening your mail and reading it out to you over the phone) in three years of running a mailbox, I have only paid two kinds of charge:

Mailbox Rental Fee

This fee covers provision of your mailbox and handling of your mail during the agreed period.
